The Infinite Horror of SAMOSBOR
Hi everyone, hope you're doing good! In today's video we'll be exploring a collective horror universe, created on the Russian side of the internet, called Samosbor (Самосбор). It's a dystopic world, all set inside of an infinite soviet building called Gigakhrushchevka (Гигахрущёвка). It's absolutely spooky and miserable, and has a lot of potential even for western creators to use it for their own stories. Games shown: Kletka, Living Cell, Samosbor; and snippets from Mike Klubnika's Unsorted Horror collection. The TRAGEDY Of Psygnosis | How Sony KILLED An Industry Juggernaut
These days, there are really only a few major games publishers. EA, activision, ubisoft, Warner brothers, take two, and so on. But back in the wild west days of the industry, during the '80s and '90s, there were tons of game publishers that gradually died off one by one as the industry became more exclusionarily expensive in the 90s into the 2000s. But there's one particular game publisher/developer that's always stuck out to me as one of the more prolific publishers of their era. One that despite at their peak being one of the biggest publishers in the industry doesn't really get talked about all that much these days. And it's a publishing company that is extremely recognizable to those of us who know about it, and even some who don't because of their incredibly distinctive logo, that being the owl orb. Yes that's right it's Psygnosis.

Islam Exposed: The History They Don't Want You to Know
Historian and author Raymond Ibrahim joins The Winston Marshall Show for a powerful, eye-opening conversation on the hidden history of Islam’s conquest of the Christian world—and why so few dare to speak about it today. Raymond traces the rapid Islamic expansion following Muhammad’s death, showing how, within just one century, Muslim armies had violently overrun three-quarters of the original Christian world—from Syria and Egypt to Spain and deep into Europe. He dismantles the myth of Andalusian "tolerance," reveals the brutal realities behind the so-called Islamic Golden Age, and explains how the Islamic conquests shattered the Mediterranean world, plunging Europe into the Dark Ages. Raymond explores the modern censorship around Christian persecution, the resurgence of historical jihadist rhetoric in groups like ISIS, and the urgent lessons today's leaders refuse to learn. All this—the real story of the Crusades, the lost Christian heartlands, the enduring legacy of conquest, and the history the mainstream media won’t touch… ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:00 – Introduction 01:37 – Who is Raymond Ibrahim? 02:21 – Personal Background: Egyptian Heritage and Academic Journey 05:00 – From Academia to Writing: A New Path 06:08 – Key Works: Sword and Scimitar and Christian Persecution 07:12 – The Impact of His Work and Public Controversy 10:00 – The Battle of Yarmouk: Turning Point in Islamic Expansion 12:10 – The Expansion of Islam: From Arabia to the Christian World 17:07 – The Battle of Tours: Stopping the Islamic Advance 20:00 – The Dark Ages: How Islam Shaped Europe’s Future 25:00 – Why Was the Muslim Conquest So Successful? 28:50 – The Reconquista: A Slow and Steady Christian Resistance 33:13 – Andalusia: Myths of Peaceful Coexistence 40:00 – The Seljuk Turks and Pre-Crusade Persecutions 44:10 – Pope Urban II and the Call for the First Crusade 50:00 – The Crusades: Misunderstood or Justified? 55:30 – The Battle of Manzikert and the Beginning of the Crusades 1:00:00 – Charlemagne and the Rise of Christian Defensiveness 1:05:00 – Early Relations Between Islam and the West 1:10:30 – The Persecution of Christians in the Middle East 1:15:00 – Crusades: Religious Wars or Defensive Actions? 1:20:00 – The Myths of Islamic Golden Age Contributions 1:25:00 – Crusades and Their Aftermath: The Long-Lasting Impact 1:30:00 – The Religious and Ideological Roots of the Conflict 1:35:00 – Western Misunderstanding of Islamic History 1:40:00 – The Rise of Jihadism and Modern Conflicts 1:45:00 – The Importance of Historical Context in Modern Conflicts 1:50:00 – The Ongoing Persecution of Christians 1:55:00 – Reflections on Western Values and Islamic Influence 2:00:00 – Conclusion: Understanding the Past to Navigate the Future

Underneath me, all around me, Is the current of Thy love, Leading onward, leading homeward To my glorious rest above. O the deep, deep love of Jesus, Spread His praise from shore to shore! How He loveth, ever loveth, Changes never, nevermore! O the deep, deep love of Jesus, 'Tis heav'n of heav'ns to me And it lifts me up to glory, For it lifts me up to Thee.

The Alibi Sisters - Papirossen (Yiddish Song)
The Alibi Sisters live studio session, recorded in Kyiv 12.03.2021 Music and lyrics by Herman Yablokoff Performed by Anna Zavalskaya and Angelina Zavalskaya Arranger - Dmitriy Saratsky Sound recording and mixing - CHESS RECORDS STUDIO (KYIV, UKRAINE) © The Alibi Sisters ______________________ The song “Papirossen” (“Cigarettes”) can rightfully be called one of the most popular songs of the 20th century. There exists an incredible amount of its translations and adaptations (in German, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish). The song was performed by great artists. In the Soviet Union, the popularity of the song was so high that it could be considered a phenomenon of urban folklore.   But, in fact, “Papirossen” has an author, his name is Herman Yablokoff (Chaim Yablonik 1903 - 1981). It was originally written in Yiddish (the author's native language) and, apparently, was based on a popular klezmer melody, originally from Bessarabia or Balkan Peninsula. While collaborating in the 1920s with Jewish theatre companies in Lithuania and Poland, Yablokoff observed the life of the lower classes of Jewish society, including children trading on the street. One of these plots lays at the basis of the “Papirossen" lyrics.    However, the song became popular only in the 1930s in the USA, where Hermann Yablokoff emigrated. Here the author makes himself an  impetuous career as an actor and a singer, and the song “Papirossen” becomes his golden hit. The story of a poor orphan boy dying of hunger and selling cigarettes on the street becomes so popular that it instantly spreads beyond American Jewish diaspora and starts its trip across the countries and continents.   Probably one of the most popular recordings of this song is the one performed by Mina (Merna) and Klara Beigelman - the famous American-Jewish duo “The Barry Sisters”. It is important to note that the Berry sisters made their recording under the guidance of Herman Yablokoff, whom early they have got acquainted with.   It was this recording of the song, with the original text in Yiddish, that we got to know in our early childhood. Our parent’s vinyl collection contained one of our favorite records with Berry Sisters best songs. We not only listened to “Papirossen” many times, it also accompanied our home theatrical performances, when we were dressing ourselves up in furs and boas from grandmother's closet.   Today we decided to create our interpretation of the famous “Papirossen”, paying tribute to its history. Taking into account all the interpretations that we know, we decided to rethink the song and present to you our version of it.
